What is Huitzo?
Huitzo exists to define how AI is implemented responsibly. The processes, the proof, and the practices that keep an organization's data safe while AI does real work.
Huitzo helps regulated industries use AI without losing control of data, workflow, or audit records.
AI applications on Huitzo are called Intelligence Packs: deterministic Python that does the work, with AI invoked only where it adds measurable value, and an audit record produced by every run. Pre-built Intelligence Packs are designed to produce results in weeks rather than the 12-18 months a fully custom internal build may require, and every Pack runs where the customer decides.
Deterministic means the control flow is fixed and testable: the same input runs the same coded path every time, each AI step is bounded, versioned and measured, and the runtime records what ran. Not certainty of output; reproducibility of process.

Why Huitzo exists
I watched my parents run gas stations and restaurants in the United States: smart, capable people who were locked out of the same tools that Fortune 500 companies use, not because they couldn't afford them, but because nobody built those tools for where they work.
When AI became the most powerful business capability of our generation and I saw it being locked inside clouds that regulated businesses and small operators can never reach, the same injustice repeated itself at a much larger scale. The organizations with the most to gain from AI, the ones whose data is regulated, privileged, or sovereign, were the ones least able to use it.
I kept coming back to one idea:
THE FOUNDING CONVICTION.
"intelligence deserves a body, a place to live where the data is."
That conviction became a company. Huitzo runs AI where the customer decides, inside their own environment or in an isolated tenant, with a record of every run.

Section 3: THE NAME
The name
HUITZO
Huitzo is Zapotec for "Warrior Watchtower": a gateway and a guardian at the same time. The Zapotec people built San Pablo Huitzo in Oaxaca, Mexico, at the edge of the highland valley that connects the Sierra Norte to Monte Alban, the capital. A place of vigilance. A place that sees what is coming.
MITLA
The Zapotec also built Mitla, an architectural marvel of thousands of cut, polished stones fitted together without mortar into 14 distinct geometric patterns. Modular. Precise. Interlocking without hidden dependencies. That is the standard Huitzo's software is held to.

Every run of an Intelligence Pack produces an audit record as a byproduct of execution. When a regulator or a board asks what your AI did, the answer is a record, not a recollection.

Business logic stays code you can read, test, and audit. AI is invoked only where it adds measurable value. No service mesh, no distributed-systems adventure, nothing your team cannot debug.

You choose where it runs. Self-hosted, your data never leaves your environment: not in transit, not in processing, not in logs.
On the hosted marketplace, your Pack, its data and its evidence live in your isolated tenant; the only thing that leaves it is the bounded model call, to the provider you chose, and we never train on your data. We tell every buyer which mode they are getting, where the model calls go, and what leaves the tenant, before they sign.
